We were in Venice the day before
George Clooney's Wedding, and although we didn't see him, I found out later he was staying in a hotel on
Giudecca Island where we went for a tour of a glass factory. The following day the tour we were on took us to Lake Como (
Bellagio). Apparently, he has persuaded the local government to fine anyone coming near his
lake home by either road or boat and tours are no longer allowed to take tourists past
his house in
Laglio. (Local swimmers are also banned from swimming less than 100 meters near his house).
